The Colorado Dragon Boat Festival needs more than 300 volunteers every year for the two-day event. It’s because of the dedication of volunteers like YOU that the festival is a success every year. Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

This year, we’re also seeking group volunteer applications. If you have 15 or more friends, family and co-workers in your network who can join you as volunteers, we’ll assign your group to work together if possible. We’ll thank you in our program book, and our our website.

Volunteer Needs

– All areas need volunteers July 30-31, 2011. Email volunteers@cdbf.org

·       Cultural Unity Stage   – Hip Hop, martial arts, & drumming stage
Set up and take-down the area and assist with performances throughout the day.
·       Dragon Boat Races
Assist with Team Registration, team loading and offloading boats, assist on the starting line, as timers, as record keepers, flag-setters (ride jet skis), etc.
·       Dragonland Childrens’ Area
Assist with setup and takedown of Dragonland area, help as needed with organizations in Dragonland, help as needed with management of new Dragonland Performing Arts Stage.
·       Festival Ambassadors/Information Booth 
Answer questions from festival guests and ensure they have a great experience, offer info & Program Book to guests (Festival resource guide provided), distribute/collect guest surveys.
·       Gateway to Asia – Cultural Demonstration Area, Performance Stage, Zen / Martial Arts Stage Area, Exhibit tents
Set up and take down the area and assist the demonstrations and performances throughout the day on the Gateway stages, assist cultural exhibits setup and takedown.
·       Marketplace 
Assist the food vendors and exhibitors at the event, conduct surveys and evaluations.
·       Performing Arts  – Main Performance Stage
Help with sound checks, back stage area, stage decor, dressing rooms, and assisting performers.
·       Production 
Assist with the setup of signs, banners, tables, chairs and more on Friday and Saturday.  During cleanup on Sunday evening, volunteers will help take down signs/banners, remove décor items and pack up supplies.
·       Public Safety  -  Parking, traffic, and transportation.
Assist at parking lots and drop off points throughout the park, assist as needed with shuttle buses.
·       Volunteer Coordination – Assist with check-in, assignments, resources, supplies, and offering breaks to volunteers.

    I had applied on line for the pepsi booth sales. (I’m with the FACC) Haven’t heard anything yet. Just wondering if we’ll be needing to attend an informational meeting like in the past. Thanks again.
