At our 10th Birthday Party last year, the highlight was an area of Asian games including the Chinese tile game Mahjong (shown below), the traditional Japanese card game Hanafuda (above) and Japanese game of strategy, Go (below), and the popular Filipino shell game Sungka, as well as several arcade-style games for kids of all ages: Lucky Dimes (dime toss), Dragon Eyes (ping pong toss), Dragon Toss (bean bag toss), and even Dragon Bingo!
We had representatives from the area’s Asian communities to teach people how to play their games, and we dedicated part of the evening to them. This year, we’re inviting you a full evening of more games, and more time to play them!
For the 2011 CDBF Asian Game Night, we’ll feature the games from last year, and some surprises from other Asian communities. Come play with us as we add the “FUN” to our annual fundraiser!
An exciting addition to this year’s Asian Game Night will be the auctioning of six beautiful murals created on-site during this year’s Colorado Dragon Boat Festival by the volunteers of our first-ever imaginAsian Mural Collaboration. One of them, shown here, is double-sided; the others are shown below.
From paint to multimedia and professional works to community contribution pieces, you’ll see the results of a weekend of interaction with artists and festival-goers.
And throughout the night, you can enjoy the fabulous authentic cuisine of Kings Land, one of the premier Chinese restaurants in the area, as well as authentic Hawai’ian Shave Ice from Little Grass Shack, one of the CDBF 2011 vendors. There will also be a brief program and entertainment from the local Asian communities, including a colorful lion dance to kick off the festivities. We’ll also have a special Game Night Raffle with great prizes, with some lucky winner going home with an iPad2!

Tickets cost $50 per person, and Corporate Tables are available for $1000. Please purchase tickets by October 7 as space is limited. (Once you make a reservation your name will be added to the guest list at Kings Land.)
