We’re accepting entries for the 2012 Community Design Competition!

The 2011 winning entry, by Fort Collins graphic artist Shawn Mingjian Xiong, evoked Old West wanted posters and Chinese paper cutting to combine cultures.
The Colorado Dragon Boat Festival in partnership with the Asian Art Coordinating Council is pleased to announce our 5th Annual Community Design Competition. In the last four competitions we received many inspiring works from excellent artists across the state and across the U.S. We thank all the participants for your support!
This year — the 12th Annual Colorado Dragon Boat Festival — we need you to roll up your sleeves, use your imagination and help us mark the Year of the Dragon plus our first cycle around the Chinese zodiac.
The winner of the competition, chosen by a panel of judges, will be honored as the commemorative poster artist at the festival. In addition, the top three winners also get cash prizes – First Place: $300, Second Place: $200, Third Place: $100. The deadline to submit your design is March 30th, 2012.
Submit your Year of the Dragon design for the 2012 Competition by March 31!
Help us spread the word! Please, forward this information to your friends and hang the competition flyer in your school or organization!
