Join the Colorado Dragon Film Festival and guest panelists from the Denver Botanic Gardens and Denver Art Museum as we discuss what is valuable in our lives, our relationships, and the world around us through Chinese-directed film, Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains. We’ll also touch on sustainability and the need to ensure that the beauties of today can be enjoyed by the generations of tomorrow.

This mini festival is part of an initiative to bring together the community and create more exposure and public attention for the neighborhood, as well as our community's diverse Asian cultures. The vision is for Federal Blvd. to one day be an area that’s safe, friendly, and popular for pedestrians.
The Moon Festival is one of the top three holidays in regions of Asia that celebrate harvest traditions. It is a time for families and communities to gather and celebrate together before the approach of winter. Come try dim sum bites or participate in pho and mooncake eating contests!
Dragon 5280 will be present at the event to support our long time festival partner, Truong An Gifts, who is hosting the festival. We hope to see you there!

Featuring Executive Chef Michael Poompan of The Ritz-Carlton, Denver
Join us for the second event in our Asian food pop up series at the Denver Botanic Gardens! Gather around the table with Thai Chef Michael Poompam and enjoy a summer evening at the Gardens with a dinner inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients! As the Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton Denver, Chef Michael focuses on sustainable food and has introduced a hotel-wide no waste campaign. He will share stories about his ingredients and where they come from, as well as his story as a chef. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the chef.

May 19 - Colorado Dragon Boats at Colfax Marathon
7-9AM, Sloan's Lake
In partnership with Denver's Colfax Marathon, Dragon 5280 and the Mile High Dragon Boat Race Club will be providing Colorado Dragon Boat Festival boats to help cheer on racers as they run through Sloan's Lake! The Colfax Marathon has collectively raised over $2.5 million over the last five years for charities! Come by the park early morning on Sunday May 19 to watch both marathon runners and our dragon boat racers!

Featuring Chef Leah Eveleigh, Cutthroat Kitchen Winner (2014)
Join us for this NEW Asian food pop up at the Denver Botanic Gardens! Gather around the table for dinner with Chef Leah Eveleigh - and enjoy a five course family-style Filipino feast! Chef Leah started out serving her delicious food at the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival and sold out of all her food in the first year! She is the first Denver chef to win a Food Network competition!

History Colorado is seeking three recipients for its Center for Colorado Women’s History Fall Fellowship. We invite scholars, activists, artists, musicians and writers who are engaged in the expansion and expression of knowledge to help inform the understanding of women in Colorado’s history, specifically through the interdisciplinary lens and methodologies of women’s studies, gender studies, and/or race and ethnic studies. Fellows will have workspace at the Center for Colorado Women’s History at Byers-Evans House Museum and receive a $5,000 stipend. Applications are due March 31 and fellowships will take place between September 1 through December 1, 2019. More information is here.
