Check out the ways that we work to make our festival and planet greener in 2018!
1. Sloan's Lake Park Conservation All festival vehicles are trained to keep off the Sloan's Lake Park grass. There is no staking of any tents, nor swimming of any humans and animals. Help us maintain the health of Sloan's Lake by abiding by these Festival Rules! 2. Festival Recycling Recycling bins will be provided to help sort recyclables from trash! We will also partnering with Eco-Cycle, one of the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit recyclers, to provide an onsite recycling education program. 3. Food Vendor Recycling Program Food vendors are required to serve food with recyclable paperware and utensils, and to bring supplies in cardboard packaging. Cardboard will be flattened and placed in recycling. 4. Reduction of Plastic Our beverage sponsor Coca-Cola will provide carbonated drinks in cans, rather than plastic bottles. 5. Changing the way we think about transportation The Colorado Dragon Boat Festival promotes walking, biking, or taking the festival's shuttle, which picks up people near one of the light rail stations here in Denver. For bikers, we have a bike corral / parking monitored by one of our non-profit partners.
